Joey Novick has been the Director of Corporate Training for ComedyWorks since 1995. He has trained several other prominent teachers of improvisation ---Hal Peller of ImprovWorkshops in NY Roy Charette of Training Path, and Chris Murphy of the New York Comedy Club Training Center.
Since 1979, Joey has been a much sought-after speaker, trainer and seminar leader. As a professional stand-up comedian and improv actor, he's appeared on MTV, Rascal's Comedy Hour, One Life to Live and Comedy Central. He's been featured regularly at Catch A Rising Star, The Comedy Zone and Dangerfield's and at scores of comedy venues across the country. He's opened in concert for comedy legends Jerry Seinfeld, Ray Romano, Paul Reiser, Chris Rock, Robert Klein and Rosie O'Donnell.
He is an award winning speaker, having been presented with the Leadership New JerseyProgram Development Award for founding their United Nations Conference Program.

As an improv actor, he's had the privilege of appearing with Robin Williams at the Comic Strip in NYC, and studied with Chicago's famed 'Second City' improvisational theater director andimprov guru, Del Close. Additionally, Joey studied with legendary improv director Paul Sills, Second City training director Martin deMaat, Armando Diaz of the Magnet Theater, Keith Johnstone of the Loose Moose Theater Company and Martin Harvey Friedberg at the Improvisation comedy club in NYC.
And Joey was hired by the Ricki Lake Show as a comedy coach for young comedians.
As a workshop director, Joey has taught improv for more than twenty-five years for several improv groups and improvisation conferences including ComedyWorks in NYC, the Spontaneous Combustion Festival in Kansas City, The Stress Factory comedy club in NJ, and at the New School for Social Research.

Improv for Stand-Up Comedy will meet at the Comedy Cove in Springfield, NJ located at 595 Morris Ave, Springfield Township.
*There will be an OPTIONAL one hour "Business of Comedy" workshop each week from 6pm to 7pm that will provide information, inspiration and instruction about how to get work, how to handle your career like a business. We will feature speakers periodically and tips on the business side of comedy.
There will be TWO graduation showcase nights TBA, the first one will be videotaped. The video will be critiqued at a class, and students will be given a second showcase night to incorporate the suggested directions into their sets.
